Global Head of Services

Overview

Global Head of Application Services is a leadership role and is responsible for managing the overall Application Services Business Globally for Rackspace Public Cloud. Driving business around Application Migration, Modernization, Cloud Native Development and Support. This role builds and runs a profitable Services business for Enterprise customers, with Sales, Solutioning and Delivery responsibility. Partner with field sales to build and grow the Applications Services business across the globe.

• Build applications services business unit globally and grow the business around application migration, modernization, development and support.
• P&L leader for Applications Services with responsibility for revenue, margin, and utilization targets.
• Strategy:
  Deliver against a clear business plan including prioritized offerings, target markets/customers/segments, monetization model, mix of internal and partner-delivered capabilities, and clear performance measures/objectives.
• Strategy:
  Create capability and offering roadmaps to accelerate the business.
• Sales:
  Lead growth of the Application Services globally, collaborating with Field Sales and Go-To-Market teams.
• Sales:
  Lead solution- and advisory-led sales with existing and new customers.
• Pre-Sales:
  Actively participate in presales activities and deal reviews for Application Services engagements.
• Solutioning:
  Develop differentiated offerings to help customers achieve business objectives.
• Delivery:
  Deliver large, complex cloud application development, migration, and modernization engagements globally, with high customer satisfaction.
• Partnerships:
  Collaborate with hyperscalers to drive strategic initiatives and growth; establish Rackspace as a top Cloud Application Services partner.
• Offering:
  Work with Offering and Marketing to create market-defining offers and lead sales and deployment of those offers.
• Team Management:
  Lead a large team of architects, consultants, and Delivery Managers across the region.
• Talent Management:
  Attract, recruit, develop, and retain key talent including Enterprise Architects and Consultants with strong application architecture and transformation backgrounds.
• Operational Excellence:
  Maintain healthy utilization, forecast revenue, margin, and utilization; represent the business to senior leaders and customers.
• Cross-organizational collaboration, communication, and leadership.
• Provide technical thought leadership and act as a technical influencer across Rackspace.
• Maintain deep knowledge of clients’ business and industry, anticipating and addressing opportunities and issues as they arise.

• Seasoned P&L leader with strong experience building Application Services business on Cloud for AWS, Azure, or equivalent providers; experience at $50M+ scale.
• Strong understanding of technology and standard practices around consulting and delivery.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Native Solutions, Containers, Microservices, APIs.
• Deep expertise in application architectures, SDLC, and cloud-based solutions.
• Proven ability to lead customer discussions and win deals based on solution strength.
• Delivery experience in large application services engagements with a global delivery model.
• Analytical thinker capable of long-range planning.
• Knowledge of business operations including strategic and operational planning.
• Ability to lead teams of support professionals and delivery managers.
• Strong leadership, motivation, and innovation mindset.
• Excellent time management, communication (oral and written), decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Strong presenter to technical audiences.

• 10+ years’ experience building and leading Applications Services business.
• 15+ years as Enterprise Architect.
• 10+ years managing large teams.
• 10+ years of experience managing and achieving revenue targets.
• Strong technology background on AWS and Azure platforms.
• Strong technical expertise in cloud programming languages.
• Experience with TOGAF, Zachman Framework.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field required.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
