Associate or Full Professor
The University of Texas at San Antonio (UT San Antonio), College of AI, Cyber and Computing invites applications as part of a cybersecurity strategic hiring initiative supported by the Regents Research Excellence Program (RREP). The position is at the rank of Associate or Full professor; however, senior Assistant Professors with an exceptional record of excellence will also be considered. The position will focus on the area of Hardware Cybersecurity.

Department of Computer Engineering
The Department of Computer Engineering is part of the newly established College of Artificial Intelligence, Cyber, and Computing. Launched with an inaugural cohort of eight tenure and tenure-track faculty members, the department is poised for substantial growth. It offers an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, alongside Master of Science programs in Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering.
Currently serving over 400 students, the department anticipates continued enrollment growth in the coming years. Faculty members are recipients of prestigious awards such as the NSF CAREER and AFOSR Young Investigator Program (YIP), and several lead major UT San Antonio research centers and institutes.
Research within the department spans a broad spectrum of cutting-edge areas, including computer architecture, cybersecurity, neuromorphic computing, low-power VLSI design, machine learning, quantum engineering, and AI/ML hardware, with robust support from federal and industry sponsors.
The department maintains strong collaborations with prominent university and college research centers and hubs, including UT San Antonio's National Security Collaboration Center, Center of Data Science, the Cyber Manufacturing Innovation Institute, the Institute for Cyber Security, the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security, the MATRIX AI Consortium, and the Open Cloud Institute. Faculty have access to state-of-the-art research laboratory resources and high-performance computing resources.
Position Summary
The selected candidates will lead and conduct cybersecurity research, mentor early-career faculty, grow research programs, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration across CAICC departments. This appointment in the Department of Computer Engineering, with potential for joint appointments in other CAICC departments. Candidates appointed at the rank of Full Professor will designated as University of Texas System (UT System) Research Excellence Regents' Professors.
The Regents' Research Excellence Program (RREP) was established by the UT System to accelerate research excellence across its four Emerging Research Universities (ERUs), including UT San Antonio.
