We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA II) to support, maintain, and enhance SQL Server environments in a production setting. This role is focused exclusively on Microsoft SQL Server and involves supporting multiple SQL Server instances across development, test, and production environments. The ideal candidate has solid hands‑on DBA experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and is comfortable supporting business‑critical systems.
Theday-to-day:
- Administer and support multiple SQL Server instances across various environments.
- Perform routine database maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Support SQL Server versions including SQL Server 2019 and 2022.
- Develop, maintain, and document scripts (Power Shell and/or T‑SQL) to automate administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation to assist with production support and incident response as needed.
- Perform patching, upgrades, remediation, and compliance‑related activities following established processes.
- Apply systems‑level DBA practices including capacity planning, storage management, and environment configuration.
- Assist with security, reliability, and availability initiatives to ensure stable database operations.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience supporting SQL Server as a DBA or database engineer.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server high‑availability and disaster recovery concepts (e.g., Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering).
- Experience with scripting and automation using Power Shell and/or T‑SQL.
- Experience supporting databases in a production environment with changing priorities.
- Familiarity with database patching, security, and compliance practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly.
- Interest in learning, improving processes, and growing technical skills over time.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or cloud‑hosted SQL Server environments.
- Experience supporting deployment or release processes involving database changes.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation or infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
- Experience working alongside application development or Dev Ops teams.
