NOC Overview
A NOC (Network Operation Center) is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across the Amazon Supply Chain network, supporting multiple geographies like NA, India and EU. It ensures on-time pickup and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, NOC steps in to resolve the issue and keeps all stakeholders informed.

NOC also analyzes network data to identify trends in exceptions and drive process improvements through automation or changes to streamline operations. Overall, NOC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and serves Amazon customers on time.

Purview of a Trans Ops Specialist A Trans Ops Specialist at NOC facilitates information flow between stakeholders (Trans Carriers/Hubs/Warehouses) and resolves issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. The role covers two verticals – Inbound and Outbound operations. Inbound Operations focuses on Vendor/Carrier/FC relationships to ensure timely pickup and on-time delivery to the FC. Outbound Operations focuses on FC/Carrier/Carrier Hub relationships to ensure trucks leave the FC and deliver to customers as promised.

A Trans Ops Specialist provides timely resolution by researching internal tools and making real-time decisions. They should understand requirements, analyze data to notice trends, and drive Customer Experience with out compromising time. The candidate should have a basic understanding of Logistics and be able to communicate clearly in written and spoken form. They should ideate process improvements and drive them to completion.

Responsibilities

• Communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers).
• Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
• Develop and/or understand performance metrics to drive business results.
• Ability to scope out business and functional requirements for Amazon technology teams who create and enhance software systems and tools used by NOC.
• Quickly understand the business impact of trends and make decisions based on available data.
• Escalate problems or data variance to relevant owners and teams and follow through on resolutions to ensure delivery.
• Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written, in Arabic and English to support SA and Egypt Regions. May be required to summarize weekly findings and present variances to goals in a review forum.
• Provide real-time customer experience by working in a 24x7 operating environment.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 10-24 months of work experience
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking Arabic and English with minimum 1 year of experience
• Good communication skills;
  Trans Ops Specialist will facilitate flow of information between external parties
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel and Data analysis (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Logistics background
• Basics in SQL and strong Excel/data analysis
