Desktop & Mobile Support Specialist

Akkodis is seeking a Desktop & Mobile Support Specialist 1 for a Contract position with a client in San Antonio, TX
. This role provides Tier 1 (intermediate‑level) support for desktop and laptop systems, including troubleshooting, hardware setup, software installation, customer assistance, and maintenance activities.

$22/hour to $22.53/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Unpack, install, and configure new desktop and laptop hardware.
• Provide end‑user training on basic device operation and supported software applications.
• Create, update, and maintain troubleshooting guides and installation documentation.
• Perform equipment relocations for computers, peripherals, monitors, and accessories.
• Research and develop alternative solutions when new issues arise.
• Fully document all interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Maintain and enhance technical skills through independent research and hands‑on learning.
• Support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of personal computers and related hardware.
• Assist with printers, plotters, LCD projectors, monitors, and other peripheral equipment.

• Associate Degree in:
  • Computer Maintenance Technology, Computer Help Desk Specialist, Computer Network Administration, or related IT field OR equivalent relevant IT experience.
• Experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PCs and hardware.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and terminology; familiarity with Windows Active Directory.
• Familiarity with LCD projectors, monitors, printers, and plotters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general PC productivity tools.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

• Relevant industry certifications (A+, Network+, HDI, etc.).
• Experience supporting utility construction & maintenance environments.

$22.00 to $22.53 per hour
