Ops Tech IT provides 24x7 global IT support to Amazon Operations, including Fulfillment, Sortation, Logistics, and Last Mile, as well as support on behalf of key partners such as Amazon Fulfillment Technologies, Ops Tech Infrastructure Engineering, Amazon Robotics, Amazon Warehouse Control Systems, and Amazon Lockers.
We are looking for a self‑motivated leader to guide a team of IT professionals and confront operational challenges. The role requires hands‑on leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, hire, train, and develop a team of IT professionals across multiple locations.
- Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment.
- Interact with management and staff to provide technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
- Establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with operational partners and staff.
- Lead infrastructure builds in new facilities.
- Plan, organize, schedule, and supervise day‑to‑day technical support activities, including troubleshooting, customer service, approvals, and installations.
- Measure, monitor, and maintain the team’s ability to meet or exceed contact and resolution Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and processes.
- Oversee management of equipment and part inventory.
- Create, manage, and support recognition and communication programs.
- Travel up to 30 %.
- 5+ years of experience leading technical teams across multiple locations.
- 2+ years leading technology teams as an IT operations manager.
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of professional or military experience.
- Knowledge of Linux or Unix systems administration.
- Experience communicating issues to stakeholders while balancing business expectations.
- Leadership experience in a 24x7 operation supporting physical IT infrastructure (compute, network, storage).
- Knowledge of hardware architectures.
- Experience with system management tools and client/server environments.
- Strong analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast‑paced IT environment and motivate teams.
- Established time‑management skills and ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven skills in leadership development and team building.
Base salary range: 116,800 – 160,000 USD annually (USA, TX, San Antonio).
