Job Summary
Argo Security Engineering & Architecture Team is seeking an entry-level Cybersecurity Engineer to monitor and respond to security events, manage vulnerability scanning and remediation, support identity and access management, and help maintain secure system configurations across our network and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze alerts from security tools, including SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management platforms.
- Assist with triage, investigation, and documentation of security incidents under guidance from senior team members.
- Support vulnerability scanning, patch validation, and remediation tracking across infrastructure and applications.
- Perform basic access control reviews and support identity and access management processes (i.e., MFA, Active Directory, privilege monitoring).
- Help document security processes, playbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in compliance and audit activities (i.e., NYDFS, Cybersecurity Regulation, NAIC Model Law).
- Assist with security awareness campaigns and user training initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure, applications, and business teams to ensure secure system configurations.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity or a related field, or a high school diploma with 3+ years of related IT/Security experience.
- Relevant internships, co‑ops, or academic projects will be considered.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
- Basic knowledge of network and system security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, DNS).
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and native security controls.
- Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection.
- Understanding of identity and access management, authentication, and privilege controls.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to follow established processes.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn, adapt to new tools and technologies, and grow within the field of cybersecurity.
- CompTIA Security+ (highly preferred for junior candidates).
- CompTIA CySA+, SSCP, or cloud security fundamentals (AWS, Azure, or Microsoft) – considered a plus.
