The IT Manager RoleAs the IT Manager at Darkhive, you will play a critical role in shaping our technology infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing our IT operations, ensuring that all systems and technologies support our mission effectively, and provide user support.
This role is responsible for strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing management of our IT infrastructure, cybersecurity compliance, service delivery, and asset management. You will be an advocate for the technology needs of all departments, providing support for both hardware and software solutions, and optimizing our technology stack.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Administration- Manage the design, deployment, and maintenance of LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless networks across all facilities
- Oversee firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), DNS, DHCP, and network monitoring platforms.
- Plan and execute network capacity upgrades, redundancy improvements, and disaster recovery connectivity.
- Collaborate with all company departments for seamless on and off‑boarding.
- Oversee IT service desk functions, ensure timely resolution of incidents, requests, and escalations including Linux, Microsoft, and iOS.
- Establish and continuously improve ITIL‑aligned service management processes including incident, problem, change, and request management.
- Develop self‑service resources, knowledge base articles, and end‑user training programs to reduce ticket volume and improve user satisfaction.
- Track and report on key service desk metrics (first‑call resolution, mean time to resolve, customer satisfaction scores) to drive continuous improvement.
- Design and enforce a comprehensive IT asset management program covering the full lifecycle: procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and disposal.
- Maintain an accurate and auditable Configuration Management Database (CMDB) of all hardware, software, and licensing.
- Coordinate hardware refresh cycles, warranty management, and secure disposal/sanitization of retired assets in accordance with NIST SP 800‑88 guidelines.
- Reconcile software licenses enterprise‑wide to maintain compliance and optimize costs.
- Proactively collaborate with outsourced cybersecurity service.
- Participate in discussions and implement cybersecurity posture in compliance with CMMC and CUI requirements.
This is a FT, exempt, role reporting to the Director, HR. This role is on‑site in San Antonio, Texas with no anticipated travel.
Qualifications you bring- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT management across multiple entities.
- 5+ years of network architecture and system administration.
- Knowledge of Windows, iOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with management tools; e.g., Jira.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional departments.
- Proven ability to implement and manage technology projects from start to finish.
- Excellent IT problem‑solving abilities and strong communication skills.
- ITIL4 and CompTIA Security+ certifications.
- U.S. Citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Experience in the robotics or defense industry.
