Position Summary

The Simulation Operations Manager provides technical support for all CRNA simulation operations to ensure best practices in healthcare simulation are used to augment student learning. This position provides essential technical and audiovisual support for the SNHP skills and simulation laboratories. Priority focus will be support of the CRNA program’s skills and simulation curriculum with secondary focus on all other SNHP programs.

The Simulation Operations Manager reports to the SNHP Simulation Director.

Job Duties
  • Set-up and break-down simulation and laboratory equipment, including patient simulators, task trainers, supplies, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Prepare and apply moulage to simulated participants and simulators.
  • Program and operate simulator software during simulation-based activities according to scenario design, including "on the fly" and pre-programmed scenarios.
  • Operate and maintain audiovisual and debriefing systems used for live streaming and reviewing simulation-based activities.
  • Provide support for screen-based, virtual, and augmented reality simulations.
  • Provide routine maintenance of simulators and task trainers including cleaning, replacement of disposable parts, and software updates.
  • Troubleshoot simulators and task trainers within the scope of warranties and operation manuals. Consult with simulator/equipment vendors as necessary to resolve malfunctions/performance issues.
  • Collaborate with information technology staff to troubleshoot electrical or networking issues within warranty guidelines for all simulation equipment and systems.
  • Provide faculty member training and technical support for skills and simulation equipment including but not limited to high-fidelity simulators, task trainers, beds/examination tables, headwalls, and patient monitors.
  • Assist Simulation Director with scheduling simulation-based activities and simulation center resources in compliance with simulation center policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with students, faculty members, clinical instructors, and staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with vendors/manufacturers regarding maintenance, repairs, updates, and technology changes.
  • Collaborate with the Simulation Director for inventory management/ordering and to organize, maintain, and restock skills and simulation laboratory supplies including oxygen supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of students, faculty, clinical instructors, staff, and community members.
  • Must be detail-oriented, think critically, identify problems, troubleshoot, and act to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare simulation equipment including high-fidelity simulators and debriefing systems.
  • Experience with setup, breakdown, and moulage of healthcare simulation-based activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft Teams.
