Position Overview
The Senior Cloud Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based solutions within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 ecosystems. This role focuses on security, compliance, and operational excellence across platforms such as MS Purview, Microsoft Defender Suite, Exchange Online, and endpoint management via Intune and Windows Hello for Business. The ideal candidate will also possess strong networking knowledge, including experience with Forti Gate firewalls, Meraki wireless, and Ubiquiti switches, and provide Tier 3 endpoint support.
Banking industry experience and familiarity with systems like FIS or Fiserv is highly preferred. The Senior Cloud Engineer is also responsible for implementing security systems that ensure data is not compromised. This position will require some travel to all of the company’s locations. Adheres to requirements pertaining to bank security, fraud prevention and BSA.
- Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and One Drive.
- Implement and maintain security and compliance solutions such as MS Purview, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Identity, and Office 365.
- Configure and optimize Azure Active Directory, conditional access policies, and identity governance.
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune for device compliance, application deployment, and endpoint security.
- Implement Windows Hello for Business for secure authentication and identity protection.
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex endpoint and cloud-related issues.
- Collaborate on network security initiatives, including firewall configuration (Forti Gate), wireless (Meraki), and switching (Ubiquiti).
- Develop and maintain documentation for cloud architecture, security policies, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, risk management, and cybersecurity standards.
- Assist in integrating cloud solutions with on-premises systems and legacy banking applications.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 administration, and Intune endpoint management.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks, compliance tools, and data governance.
- Familiarity with Windows Hello for Business and modern authentication methods.
- Networking fundamentals and experience with networking technologies such as Forti Gate, Meraki, and Ubiquiti.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across cloud and endpoint environments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Power Shell, Python, or similar languages.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Systems/Cloud Engineering or Microsoft 365/Azure administration, with a focus on designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise infrastructures.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, 365, Purview, Defender Suite, Intune, and Exchange Online.
- Strong understanding of network security and firewall technologies.
Preferred:
- Banking industry experience and familiarity with FIS, Fiserv, or similar systems.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified:
Enterprise Administrator Expert, or Fortinet NSE.
