IT Project Manager - Mid
Location: San Antonio, Texas (4 days a week in office, 1 day remote)
Duration: 6-12 months contract to HIRE
Pay Rate: $52-57/hr max
Role OverviewWe are seeking a motivated IT Project Manager to join a dynamic team in a highly collaborative and regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for managing the intake funnel for all non-business-driven work within the organization's technology division. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and will bridge the gap between technical teams and executive leadership, ensuring project alignment with key objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Lead and coordinate multiple large-scale projects and programs concurrently, ensuring delivery on time and within scope.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective working relationships and communication channels with cross-functional teams, including Information Security, Infrastructure, Risk, and Audit.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Define requirements, validate incoming work, and drive execution across multiple teams.
- Champion best practices in project management within a hybrid Waterfall and Agile framework.
- 3-7 years of IT project management experience within banking or financial services required.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex projects and programs in a structured, regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with executive-level and C-suite stakeholders.
- Proficiency in work item management systems such as Jira and Service Now.
- Experience with project management tools like Clarity.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work on-site four days per week.
- Military affiliation is valued.
- Experience in Information Security (Info Sec), cybersecurity, or infrastructure projects.
- Background working with application owners and managing application life cycles.
- Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
- Familiarity with various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PI Planning).
- Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
