Southwest Regional NEC provides Army Information Technology Portfolio (AITP) Services, Information Assurance, and Computer Network Defense to the tenants on the installation. The AITP defines Army baseline enterprise and mission information technology services provided and/or supported by the NEC. The NEC supports multiple Major Army Commands with diverse missions in a multi-service environment. It defends the network while providing transparent integration and delivery of DoDIN-A information technology services and capabilities in support of battle command for all operating and generating forces assigned to Fort Sam Houston Joint Base San Antonio which also includes Camp Bullis, Camp Stanley.

The Fort Sam Houston NEC has a requirement to provide AITP services to the installation. The installation has a Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) user base of 8,096 and a Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) user base of 1,120, and 1,510 printers and multifunction devices. There are 54 public NIPRNET web sites, seven (7) Intranets web sites, and one (1) enterprise DISA hosted SharePoint site, and 18 subsites.

The SIPRNET has three (3) web sites, one (1) enterprise NETCOM hosted SharePoint site, and 13 subsites. The NEC houses a total of 286 servers of which 64 are managed by the Fort Sam Houston NEC. The network consists of Cisco ASR 9K Series Routers, Juniper Area Core Switches (EX9200 series), Juniper Area Distribution Switches (EX4600), and Juniper Edge Access Switches (EX4300, EX3400 and EX2300), Cisco 4400 series wireless LAN controllers, and Cisco Airo Net
1200 series access points. There are 21,641 devices connected on the NIPRNET and an additional 340 wireless devices. The SIPRNET has 139 switches and 125 printers. The following software supports the network operation:
Cisco Prime, Junos Space, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Info Vista, Net Cool, Secure CRT, Chimera, Cisco Secure Access Control Server, Cisco Wireless Control System, SYSLOGs, Arc Sight and Keykeeper. The Fort Sam Houston NEC will continue to upgrade the Data Center and the network and the Cyber Security systems. These initiatives will upgrade the environment and replace equipment with the latest technology of blade servers and virtualization to align with higher command network modernization efforts.

The Army Enterprise Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system is the current work order ticketing system (Incident Management).

• Review IT programs for the unclassified and classified networks to assess overall compliance with IT plans and policies.
• Review IT programs for the five (5) phases of project management: conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance / monitoring, and project closure.
• Will manage and provide oversight on assigned Enterprise, short and long term IT projects and ensure adequate resources are assigned and aligned with core service delivery and FOC criteria satisfaction
• The Project Manager shall provide a comprehensive project plan for all requirements/ projects to include costs and budgets, personnel, planning, quality control, direction, coordination, deliverable submissions, and reviews to ensure effective contract performance.
• Manage the performance and customer satisfaction associated with the delivery of Enterprise engineering solutions and the execution, monitoring and completion of Statement of Work (SOW), PWS and other Government Required Documents (GRD).
• Provide Technical Solutions. Submit Technical Solution for requirements 30 working days after assignment or no more than 60 working days due to the complexity.
• Shall ride in Government vehicles only as a passenger for official duties only.
