Information Security Analyst Associate

• Performs Computer Security Incident Response activities for a large organization; coordinates with other government agencies to record and report incidents.
• Monitors and analyzes Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation.
• Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and performs thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.
• Evaluates firewall change requests and assesses organizational risk.
• Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications, and operating systems.
• Assists with implementation of counter‑measures or mitigating controls.
• Ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.
• Performs periodic and on‑demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system, and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.
• Prepares incident reports of analysis methodology and results.
• Participates in network user account creation process and validates access to shared resources.
• Participates in the Media control program.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Participates in special projects as required.
• Reviews request for changes.
• Basic knowledge of RMF processes.
• Assists the Government with various IA, Security, EMSEC, and other inspections.
• Assists with the destruction of classified media.

• Education:
  
  Technical training, certification(s), or degree.
• Experience:
  
  0+ years of related experience.
• Security clearance level: TS/SCI.
• Minimum DoD 8570.01-M and 8140 approved and registered IAT Level II baseline certification, with preferred Security+ certificate (current and verifiable).
• US citizenship required.

Salary Range: $55,806 – $65,550 (based on experience, location, and contractual requirements).

Scheduled weekly hours: 40; travel required: less than 10%; telecommuting options: onsite; work location: USA – TX, San Antonio.
