San Antonio, TX (JBSA Lackland Air Force Base) Typical 2026 salary range: $132,751-$172,578 per year Travel Requirements:

Skills:
  • Multi-Component Test Integration & Agile Software Pathways:
    Proven experience integrating, analyzing, and synthesizing DT&E results from multiple disparate component test programs (such as the six core JCWA components) operating under Agile and Dev Sec Ops  software acquisition pathways.
  • Senior PMO & Executive Engagement:
    Demonstrated experience establishing and managing strategic relationships with acquisition Program Management Offices (PMOs) and engaging directly with senior program office executives, military leaders, and external joint stakeholders to communicate T&E risks and progress.
  • DT&E Quality Advisory & Oversight:
    Expert-level capability to evaluate and advise on the quality of test planning, resourcing, test design adequacy, and reporting rigor of test execution organizations, without needing to perform hands-on testing.
  • Acquisitions Certifications & Technical Education (Highly Desired): DAWIA/APDP certification in Test and Evaluation (T&E), Program Management, or Engineering and Technical Management (ETM), combined with a technical Master's degree or higher.
Major Duties:
  • Serves as a technical expert and leads in conducting developmental test of cyber capabilities and weapon systems
  • Technical expert on a team which performs assessments of systems and networks and reports on functionality of offensive and/or defensive weapons and/or cyberspace platforms
  • Directs the team during test planning to methodically determine test methodology to provide data used to determine system functionality or used to generate a recommendation to the customers and/or developers
  • Develops standardized test support strategies to adapt test execution to customers technical and timeline needs
  • Determines the required test scope and objectives to accomplish the requester's requirements and to comply with Air Force Test Center and unit policy
  • Briefs commanders and other high-ranking personnel on the purpose and findings of the assessment and prepares written reports on findings
  • Provides test reports to senior leaders of the 47 CTS, 96 CTG, 96 TW, DoW Services, other joint agencies and acquisition agents
  • Analyzes certification and accreditation plans, security test and evaluation (ST&E) plans and results, risks analysis, and other documents submitted by program offices for technical adequacy and completeness
  • Performs tests and evaluations of complex network and telecommunications equipment or software
  • Plans, develops, and implements test techniques, procedures, and guidance to ensure technical adequacy and other test requirements are in place.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
  • Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
  • Position is designated special-sensitive, and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed
  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program
