Job Description
LAN Support Services shall be performed for HQ CLIENT functional servers not controlled by other agencies (AFSFC, AFSVA) and at Tyndall AFB. Working with the System Administrator, identify, respond to, and resolve network threats, vulnerabilities, and attacks in coordination with the Network Operations Squadrons, to minimize risks to operations on all CLIENT functional servers.
Provides inputs to government personnel on specific network threats for possible communication to CLIENT leadership.
Support implementation of Information Conditions (INFOCONs) and Network Orders as directed by the 502 CS.
Job Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) concepts, practices, and procedures and be Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certified IAW DoD Manual 8570.01, and Microsoft, Unix, and Cisco industry standards, and maintain certification status.
- Staying up to date on current network threats, vulnerabilities, and attacks.
- Become knowledgeable of DoD and AF INFOCONs, and all network orders (MTOs, TCTOs, etc.) within six months.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in computer system management with specific experience in data communications troubleshooting.
- The candidate shall have an active Secret clearance
Estimated Workload
- Processes over 20 tickets monthly for vulnerability issues.
- Provides updates to COR on network threats monthly.
