Information Technology Release Train Engineer

At Regions, the Information Technology Release Train Engineer manages and optimizes the flow of value through the Agile Release Train. Primary responsibilities include overseeing medium-sized or two small to medium release trains with complex scope and inter-dependencies, facilitating the agile processes at the program/train level, including planning periodic reviews and planning sessions, handling communication and collaboration between Agile teams within the Agile Release Train (ART), removing barriers and impediments to ART effectiveness, identifying enterprise-level continuous improvement opportunities and driving implementation, tracking and communicating key ART metrics, including impediments, feature execution progress, and business value delivery, collaborating with the appropriate teams to translate business strategy into technology strategy and ensure that capabilities required by the business are enabled, creating retrospective improvement roadmaps by analyzing all activities and actions that have previously been performed and finding ways to improve each process as a way of continuous improvement, understanding which metrics are beneficial and should be tracked, how these metrics should be interpreted and how the project course can be corrected even if the findings are showing risks, understanding the program's budget and how budgeting works within a SAFe environment, and understanding and operating within the Agile Release Train budget.

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, five (5) years experience as RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager, Scaled Agile such as Agile Practitioner, SAFE certified Release Train Engineer. Skills and competencies include prior management experience preferred, knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach, the ability to effectively prioritize and assign work to meet deadlines, the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical users at all levels of the organization, excellent leadership skills to manage various stakeholders effectively at the train and solution level, and excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
