Educational Technology Specialist

The Educational Technology Specialist plays a vital role in integrating technology into educational settings to enhance teaching and learning experiences. The Educational Technology Specialist collaborates with educators and administrators to identify technology needs, develop strategies for implementation and provide training and support.

Responsibilities

• Assess faculty technology proficiency.
• Provide support to teachers to increase their proficiency and streamline use of classroom technology, to include Clevertouch displays, Google Suite, and other school-sponsored applications and software.
• Work with the Dean of Academics in developing a discrete suite of educational apps and tools for teachers to use. Will vet new tools, compare with existing licenses and subscriptions, and recommend or deny adoption.
• Work with the Dean of Academics to develop and provide a year-long formal/informal, group/1-on-1 PD plan for faculty.
• In conjunction with the Director of Technology, maintain a help desk for student Chromebook support.
• Troubleshoot, repair and inventory student-used Chromebooks.
• Assist with additional IT tasks, to include network, printing, WiFi, phone, access control and security system maintenance and troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot Chromebooks, Windows PC's, Google Apps, AV technology, and Chrome browser issues.
• Experience administering users, devices and policies in Google Suite.
• Understanding of and experience with content-filtering software
• Proficiency utilizing mobile device classroom management tools
• Understanding of basic network structure and protocols
• Experience with Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and other basic Windows Server tools
• Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
• Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
