Job Summary

The Adaptive Resource Coordinator oversees, coordinates, and implements policies and procedures related to text conversion, digital accessibility compliance, and adaptive testing accommodations for students with disabilities. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the department's information management system to ensure accessibility, efficiency, and alignment and interfacing with departmental/institutional needs. The Coordinator oversees all phases and activities related to the utilization of adaptive technology within the Student Disability Services suite.

This role coordinates, with limited authority, all aspects of adaptive technology as they relate to accessibility, digital compliance, and adaptive testing, including system management, process implementation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Core Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and implements all aspects of the alternative media program, including the conversion of instructional materials (e.g.,exams, textbooks, and supplemental materials) into accessible formats in compliance with ADA and digital accessibility standards.
  • Performs and oversees text conversion processes, including remediation of non-accessible exams and course materials;collaborate with faculty, publishers, and vendors to obtain orproduce accessible instructional content.
  • Serves as the primary resource for students with print disabilities registered with Student Disability Services,facilitating timely access to alternative format materials and ensuring equal access to course content.
  • Coordinates the utilization, installation, integration, and maintenance of adaptive and assistive technology, including hardware and software used to support student accommodations.
  • Provides training and consultation to students, faculty, andstaff on the use of assistive technology and accessible instructional practices.
  • Maintains and manages the Student Disability Services information management system (e.g., AIM), including coordinating updates, enhancements, and process improvements to ensure accessibility, functionality, and alignment with departmental needs.
  • Ensures all digital systems, databases, websites, and electronic materials utilized by Student Disability Services meet established accessibility standards and remain compliant with ADAand institutional requirements.
  • Coordinates and implements updates to the Student Disability Services website, ensuring content accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with current services and compliance standards.
  • Develops, creates, and produces departmental materials in bothprint and accessible formats, including outreach materials, guides,and digital content.
  • Manages departmental digital signage and social media platforms, ensuring accessibility and alignment with departmental messaging and outreach goals.
  • Maintains inventory, organization, and storage of assistive technology and related equipment, including computers, software,and adaptive devices used for accommodations.
  • Assists in the evaluation, selection, and procurement of assistive and general technology to support accessibility initiatives and student accommodations.
  • Maintains and supports technology associated with testing accommodations, including monitoring equipment and cameras, in collaboration with appropriate campus partners (e.g.,UTS).
  • Collaborates with campus partners and departments to provide consultation on accessibility, digital compliance,and adaptive technology solutions.
