This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday System Architect based in the United States.

This is a senior architecture role focused on shaping, optimizing, and supporting complex Workday and enterprise technology environments.
You will translate business, clinical, and administrative needs into scalable system architectures and practical technology solutions.
The role combines strategic consulting, technical leadership, systems design, and continuous improvement across a complex organization.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, developers, vendors, and leadership to align systems with organizational priorities.
The position offers significant influence over architecture standards, enterprise initiatives, integrations, and technology roadmaps.
You will also provide expert guidance, mentor technical and business partners, and help resolve highly complex system challenges.

Accountabilities:

  • Architecture Strategy: Design, develop, implement, support, and optimize architecture strategies that align technology capabilities with business, clinical, and administrative needs.
  • Enterprise Solutions: Provide strategic consultation on business processes, system capabilities, technology options, and enterprise solutions, contributing to strategy development, opportunity identification, and business innovation initiatives.
  • System Design: Specify and design large or complex systems, solutions, and processes while selecting appropriate architecture standards, methods, technologies, and tools.
  • Technical Integration: Develop architecture models, component requirements, and detailed implementation specifications while advising teams on system development, integration, workflows, and technical processes.
  • Business and User Requirements: Work with stakeholders to understand user needs, operating environments, technical constraints, and organizational requirements, translating them into effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Process Improvement: Lead improvement initiatives, refine methodologies, and ensure technology and process changes deliver measurable business benefits.
  • Change Management: Oversee enterprise change management activities, assess the impact of proposed changes across affected teams, and provide guidance to ensure established processes and standards are followed.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Lead the resolution of complex architecture and business challenges and serve as a technical leader for high-impact enterprise initiatives.
  • Technical Leadership: Maintain deep expertise across relevant technologies and provide expert advice, mentoring, and training to developers, peers, management, and business partners.
  • Architecture Governance: Reinforce technology principles, policies, procedures, and standards while evaluating major design decisions and ensuring solutions balance functionality, service quality, performance, integration, and operational requirements.
  • Stakeholder and Vendor Management: Build and manage effective relationships with vendors, professional peers, business stakeholders, and technical teams, including navigating complex or challenging situations.
  • Operational Support: Apply preventative techniques to reduce recurring issues, support implementations and training when needed, participate in on‑call responsibilities, and travel to affiliated sites when required.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, computer science, business, informatics, or a related field with at least 8 years of experience in system analysis involving business, clinical, or administrative applications; alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Workday Expertise: 5–7 years of hands‑on Workday experience, with strong understanding of enterprise systems and architecture.
