Role & responsibilities
- Design and lead database-centric solution architectures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Define scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective database architectures aligned with business requirements.
- Lead database migration, modernization, consolidation, and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Develop HLD/LLD, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps.
- Design HA/DR, backup, recovery, replication, RPO/RTO, and business continuity strategies.
- Drive database performance, scalability, capacity planning, and query optimization.
- Design integrations with APIs, microservices, enterprise applications, and cloud services.
- Establish database security, governance, monitoring, compliance, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Application, Cloud, Dev Ops, Security, and Data teams.
- Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, mentoring, and resolution of complex database and solution issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in database engineering, database architecture, solution architecture, or cloud architecture.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or other enterprise databases.
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or OCI database and cloud services.
- Proven experience in database migration, modernization, HA/DR, replication, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of AWS DMS, Azure Database Migration Service, Always On, Data Guard, Golden Gate, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python/Power Shell, CI/CD, Git, and Dev Ops.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, REST APIs, cloud-native architectures, and database security.
- Strong understanding of IAM/RBAC, encryption, governance, compliance, monitoring, and cloud cost optimization.
- Excellent HLD/LLD, solution design, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- AWS/Azure/GCP, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Terraform certifications are an advantage.
