This position offers a unique opportunity to work within USAA's Unified Command Center as part of the Threat Intelligence Team. You will engage with threat monitoring and reporting groups both inside and outside of USAA, utilizing a range of technologies and data feeds to conduct in-depth analysis, develop threat intelligence products, and deliver essential reporting to USAA's senior executives and the Board.

The Threat Intelligence Analyst Sr is responsible for conducting advanced threat research and analysis, developing strategic intelligence insights, and providing expert guidance to junior team members. This role will lead complex analysis and collaboration of sophisticated threat activities across all risks domains, translate intricate threat information into actionable intelligence that informs operational resiliency and security decisions, and actively contribute to the overall maturity and effectiveness of the Threat Intelligence program.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is based in San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct in-depth threat research and analysis to identify, assess, and prioritize threats with significant potential impact on the Association's operations, strategic objectives, and long-term business continuity.
  • Track, analyze, and profile relevant threat activities, their motivations, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), providing deep insights into operational and historical patterns, and future intent or materializations.
  • Develop and disseminate timely and actionable intelligence products, including strategic briefs, tactical alerts, warnings, and situational reports, to direct leadership, senior executives, and relevant business representatives, facilitating executive situational awareness and informed strategic decision-making.
  • Drive horizontal evidence collection and analytical collaboration across the Association (e.g., Lines of Business, Cyber, Fraud, Third-Party Risk Management, Privacy, Security, Corporate Investigations, Treasury).
  • Contribute to the end-to-end threat intelligence lifecycle, including collection, analysis, production, dissemination, and feedback mechanisms, to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organizational needs. Propose, develop, and advocate for enhancements to methodologies, tools, and processes that elevate program effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels, as well as with external partners, including commercial security service providers, relevant U.S. government agencies (e.g., OSAC, DSAC), and law enforcement entities. Manage key external agreements and collaborations.
  • Provide expert intelligence support for business traveler safety, including contributing to the development and refinement of security protocols, destination assessments, and emergency response measures (e.g., political evacuation plans).
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance, analytical rigor, and career development support to junior Threat Intelligence Analysts, fostering their skills and contribution to team objectives.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required to conduct site and vulnerability assessments, meet with external partners, or support critical incidents.
