Project Overview:
The U.S. Army Signal Regional Network Enterprise Center (NEC) requires Information Technology services to provide Command, Control, Communication, and Computer Information Technology (C4/IT) Enterprise Management Services. Fort Sam Houston is part of a Joint Base and C4/IT support is a key component affecting the readiness and sustainability of critical DoD and other tenant activities across the installation. In addition, NEC Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) will be undergoing changes due to regionalization restructuring.
The Army and the Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) are in the process of transforming the DoD Information Network – Army (DODIN-A). Some of the local network functions are moving to the enterprise. The most recent service that moved to the enterprise was E‑mail. The NEC supports some Major Army Commands and some Direct Reporting Units (DRU) such as the Army Medical Command, Army South, Installation Command and its subordinate commands, and Medical Education & Training Campus.
The overall strength of these organizations along with the other tenants on the installation surpass a population of twenty‑five thousand three hundred fifty (25,350) Military, Civilian, Contractor, and Non‑Appropriated Funds (NAF) personnel.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide touch labor technical support for Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) /Joint Management System (JMS) network components.
- Apply technical standards and security policy for LAN topologies and components; identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support enterprise network devices (i.e. layer 2 & 3 switches and routers). Implement, troubleshoot, and support Enterprise Classified Voice over IP (ECVoIP) solution; install, troubleshoot, move, and remove VoIP telephones for customers as required.
- Provide local common-user LAN and CAN touch labor (troubleshooting and repairing).
- Install, configure, support, and troubleshoot wireless technologies.
- Monitor the limited geographic CAN and LAN by utilizing enterprise management software to monitor network performance, analyze network activity, and maintain a high level of network availability. Perform network discovery and conduct fault analysis.
- Provide network utilization reports to the COR.
- Manage network equipment/software to include configuration management and capacity management.
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities to include but not limited to completing configuration documents, performing Security Technical Implementation Guide evaluations, correcting findings and modifying network diagrams.
- Assist with development of an updated Quarterly Enterprise System Management Architecture Design Document describing service level offering deployed and planned enhancements.
- Draft and maintain Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) documents for the functional category.
- Assist the Government with cybersecurity functional support for Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessments, authorizations, and documentation of fielded systems managed by the RNEC-JBSA.
Contribute to T&T proposal activities and all other duties as assigned by T&T managers.
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience supporting DoD Networks
- Knowledge and experience communicating networking concepts to technical and nontechnical personnel
- Ability to develop technical documents and produce system design documentation using Visio or Power Point.
Desired Skills &
Qualifications:
- Current experience on Army Networks (NIPR and SIPR)
- JUNIPER experience is preferred
