Blu Omega is seeking a System Architect, Journeyman to support a federal program focused on enterprise architecture modernization for the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC). This role operates within a hybrid environment supporting both government and contractor facilities, including JBSA-Kelly Field Annex, and is responsible for designing, assessing, and developing enterprise architecture products. The position requires experience supporting architecture frameworks within a mission-driven environment.
ProgramOverview
Blu Omega supports the AFCEC mission to reduce IT costs and increase operational efficiency through digitized enterprise architecture products and improved portfolio management. The program is newly awarded under Phase 3 of a Commercial Solutions Opening, with a base period plus four option years, and aims to modernize systems, support data-driven decisions, and improve mission outcomes in the Air Force Civil Engineering domain.

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise system architectures using Cameo Enterprise Architect and other approved platforms.
- Assess existing DoDAF views and models, identify usability gaps, and support conversion to SysML or UAF frameworks.
- Create and maintain architecture content for a centralized Civil Engineering IT Portfolio repository covering data, systems, applications, and interfaces.
- Apply UAF modeling conventions and best practices to support organizational operations and lifecycle activities.
- Develop Minimum Viable Architecture products for new technology and mission needs.
- Map and trace stakeholder requirements to system models, supporting architecture validation and documentation.
- Identify system redundancies, data duplication, and integration gaps, proposing rationalization opportunities.
- Develop architecture views, process models, capability models, and system context diagrams.
- Facilitate architecture reviews, working sessions, and stakeholder briefings.
- Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and status updates for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Manage architecture activities using Agile tools such as Jira, participating in sprint planning and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and information security requirements, including handling of Controlled Unclassified Information.
- 3–7 years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or related fields.
- Active DoD Secret clearance; verification required prior to start.
- Expertise with Cameo Enterprise Architect, Magic Draw, or similar modeling tools.
- Working knowledge of DoDAF, UAF, SysML, or MBSE frameworks.
- Experience mapping relationships among mission objectives, capabilities, and data.
- Ability to create architecture diagrams, process flows, and traceability matrices.
- Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and technical writing skills.
- Willingness to travel periodically to San Antonio, TX.
- Familiarity with Palantir Foundry or Envision platforms.
- Experience supporting DoD or Air Force architecture projects.
- Background in data integration, ontology development, or system modernization.
- Experience working within centralized architecture repositories or data catalogs.
- Knowledge of federal, DoD, or Air Force operations and standards.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, and sprint execution.
