Actuarial Analyst – Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance – Up to 180K
Job OverviewWe are hiring an Actuarial Analyst to support P&C insurance pricing and state filing activities. This high-priority role offers candidates the chance to make an immediate impact, supporting regulatory compliance and data-driven pricing decisions across multiple states. The position requires strong actuarial fundamentals, hands-on analytical skills, direct interaction with state insurance departments, and experience working with insurance systems.
Responsibilities- Own and manage actuarial responsibilities for assigned states
- Complete end-to-end state filing processes, including rate development and trend analysis
- Revise rates and prepare actuarial documentation for submission to the Department of Insurance (DOI)
- Coordinate DOI responses, objections, and approvals with internal stakeholders
- Apply complex actuarial and statistical methodologies to unstructured projects
- Translate business problems into technical and actuarial requirements
- Run actuarial models, interpret results, and communicate findings clearly
- Ensure data quality and integrity supporting rate level indications
- Leverage insurance platforms (e.g., Guidewire) to support pricing and filing activities
- Support risk identification, measurement, and control in line with compliance policies
- 5 years of actuarial, analytical, or related business experience
- Strong Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance background
- Hands-on experience with insurance platforms (e.g., Guidewire Policy Center/Rating modules)
- Minimum of 3 actuarial exams completed (CAS, ACT, or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent actuarial/business/analytical experience may substitute
- Demonstrated competency in actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques
- Experience with trend analysis, rate level indications, and state filings
- Intermediate knowledge of Python, SQL, or other data analysis tools
- Experience with data visualization and analytical querying
- Strong understanding of insurance products, stakeholders, and regulatory environments
- 130,000 – 180,000 per year
