Holliday Energy Law Group is looking for candidates to join our growing team, primarily to assist in the operations of a transactional law practice. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal English, a full command of Microsoft 365 products, and strong proficiency working in a Microsoft Teams-based environment. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a comparable role at a large law firm or corporation. Experience in transactional, real estate, or oil and gas practice areas is strongly preferred. Candidates with demonstrated proficiency in AI-assisted workflows and legal technology platforms will be given strong preference.

Our goal is to recruit A players to join our team. If you are an A player, we want to hear from you. Details about the position and our firm can be found below. Please submit a resume and cover letter.

Who We Are

Our Core Purpose: To create massive, outsized value.

What does it mean?

When the team wins, we all win. At the Holliday Energy Law Group, we define the team as our clients as well as our internal team members. We strive to create massive, outsized value in everything we do - including in ways that make us indispensable to our clients - as well as our industry partners and team members.

How do we express it?

We deliver more than just legal advice. Most people think of us as a law firm that advises clients on oil and gas title, regulatory, and operational issues, but what we really do is...
  • We advance careers for the people (clients) at the companies we work with. We do this by consistently placing their projects in a position to succeed.
  • We create competitive advantage for the companies we work with. We do this primarily by identifying and mitigating legal risk with practical solutions so that the client can focus on creating value.
Our value as a firm is directly proportional to the value we create for others. We seek to create massive, outsized value.

Our Core Values
  • The Obstacle is the Way - Obstacles or challenges do not block the path forward; they are the path forward. Face them objectively and seize the opportunity they present.
  • Be Smart - Seek the emotional intelligence to understand the dynamics of yourself, the people around you, and how the things you say and do will impact them.
  • Take Ownership - Each team member "owns" everything in their world - the problem and the solution. No excuses. No blame. All responsibility for success or failure ultimately rests on your shoulders.
  • A Duty to Serve - As successful professionals, we have a duty to give back to the communities - professional and personal - that have allowed us to thrive.
  • Cover and Move - Teamwork. Always seek to understand your role in the process, who you support, who supports you, and how you can more effectively leverage those networks to create better outcomes.
  • High Motor - We consistently do what it takes to make it happen.
Who You Are

You are someone who...
  • Identifies with the firm's core values.
  • Is excited about the oil and gas industry.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment while enjoying the opportunity to work independently on your portion of the project.
  • Loves the cerebral aspect of solving a problem or a puzzle.
  • Enjoys the reading and writing aspects of law.
  • Is motivated by opportunities to help others.
  • Places a high value on accurate and precise work product - you have an exacting eye for detail and take personal accountability for the accuracy of every document that crosses your desk. You are the person who catches the misplaced decimal, the inconsistent party name, the citation that doesn't match. You don't consider a document finished until you've verified every fact, figure, and filing requirement - because you understand that a single error in a legal filing can have real consequences for our clients.
  • Focuses on how you can resolve or prevent a problem you face rather than make excuses and cast blame.
  • Values learning and improvement.
  • Is energized by building and maintaining systems that keep a team running efficiently.
  • Embraces technology as a force multiplier - you see AI tools and digital platforms as opportunities to work smarter, not shortcuts to avoid doing the work.
The ideal candidate identifies with the above and has a minimum of 5 years of experience at a large law firm or corporation, including...
  • Reviewing and editing transactional legal documents.
  • Drafting and filing motions or applications before administrative agencies or regulatory bodies.
  • Managing a firm's filing system.
  • Working within project management or deadline tracking systems.
  • Operating in a Microsoft Teams-based work environment.
