The Supply Planning Manager will oversee the company’s supply planning function, ensuring consistent product availability, efficient inventory utilization, and alignment with business objectives across all distribution centers. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership and operational execution, with responsibility for leading a team of Supply Planners, enhancing cross-functional collaboration, and driving continuous improvement in supply planning processes.
The Supply Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in the company’s S&OP process, ensuring supply strategies are aligned with demand forecasts, supplier capabilities, and corporate financial goals.
Responsibilities- Leadership & People Development: Lead, coach, and mentor the Supply Planning team, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and performance development.
- Leadership & People Development: Build a high-performing team culture focused on problem-solving, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Leadership & People Development: Serve as the escalation point for complex planning issues, providing direction and resolution.
- Strategic Supply Planning: Develop, implement, and continuously improve supply planning processes and tools to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Strategic Supply Planning: Partner with the Director of Supply Chain to set stocking policies, safety stock levels, and Days of Supply (DOS) targets across the network.
- Strategic Supply Planning: Ensure consistency of planning practices across all distribution centers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Demand Planning, Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure business objectives are met.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the supply chain liaison during new product launches, promotions, and strategic initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide insights to senior leadership regarding supply risks, opportunities, and trade-off scenarios.
- Supplier & Network Management: Manage supplier performance and escalate systemic issues impacting service levels or lead times.
- Supplier & Network Management: Support strategic sourcing decisions and supplier negotiations to improve supply reliability and efficiency.
- Supplier & Network Management: Identify opportunities for intercompany transfers and sourcing optimization.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor KPIs such as fill rates, order accuracy, inventory turnover, and supply reliability, and drive corrective actions as needed.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement: Lead projects to enhance planning tools, reporting, and automation.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement: Benchmark industry best practices and implement initiatives to improve agility, visibility, and decision-making.
- S&OP Process Contribution: Lead supply review meetings within the S&OP process.
- S&OP Process Contribution: Present supply scenarios, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- S&OP Process Contribution: Ensure proactive alignment of supply plans with demand forecasts and financial objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or inventory management roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead capacity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing suppliers and inventory targets.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel and data analysis skills.
