Yard Attendant

Job Description

IAA, an RB Global, Inc. company, is seeking a Yard Attendant to join our team.

Yard Attendants work in the elements, focus on safety, and support the auction operation by monitoring vehicles and assisting visitors.

• Vehicle check-in by recording and filing information on vehicles assigned to the facility.
• Detail vehicles to improve appearance and value at auction; training provided.
• Operate passenger vehicles safely, moving vehicles around the facility or participating in drive‑through auctions.
• Recover keys, license plates and other items from vehicles and store them appropriately.
• Assist visitors by providing guidance and directing them to the appropriate department.
• Train and develop in forklift and loader operation.

All candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle as required for job duties.

Must have an upbeat demeanor and a positive customer interaction style. Knowledge of cars or general mechanical knowledge is a plus, and teamwork is essential.

Preferred:
Basic automotive repair skills or experience in rental or construction industry.

• Apply security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect company and customer assets.
• Use personal protective equipment such as safety gloves and safety glasses.
• Recognize potentially unsafe situations and respond appropriately.
• Follow industry regulations related to hazardous materials handling.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs constantly; up to 50 lbs frequently; over 100 lbs occasionally.
• Reach, handle, and finger objects; stand, walk, and sit; bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, crawl.
• Work outdoors in all types of weather; remain alert to hazards from heavy equipment and vehicles.

• Primarily outdoor work in all types of weather.
• Remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles in the work area.
