Blackwave designs, manufactures and ships flight-qualified, commercial off-the-shelf composite over wrapped pressure vessels (COPVs) for launch vehicles and satellites. Lead Supply Chain Role

The Lead Supply Chain will own and drive Blackwave's end-to-end supply chain in the United States. This is a hands‑on, on‑site ownership role requiring daily presence to manage physical flows, partners, and teams across procurement and warehousing. The role combines strategic planning with operational execution and close collaboration with local and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage on-site supply chain operations, including procurement, inbound logistics, warehousing, and inventory control
  • Design and execute scalable supply chain strategies aligned with cost, service, and growth objectives
  • Manage relationships with on-site suppliers and third‑party logistics (3PL) partners
  • Ensure reliable, on‑time delivery and optimal inventory levels through active, on‑site operational oversight
  • Track, analyze, and improve KPIs such as on‑time delivery, inventory turns, and service levels
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure supply chain continuity
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, finance, and commercial teams to support production and customer commitments
  • Ensure compliance with US trade regulations, customs requirements, safety standards, and internal policies
  • Lead, coach, and grow on‑site supply chain team members
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field
  • At least two years of experience in supply chain roles with increasing responsibility
  • Proven experience managing on‑site supply chain and physical operations in the US
  • Strong understanding of US warehousing and trade compliance requirements

    Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to work on‑site on a daily basis
Preferred
  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent)
  • Experience in technology, manufacturing, hardware, or complex operational environments
  • Experience with ERP and supply chain management systems
  • Prior people leadership or team‑building experience
Location & Travel
  • Our current facility is located in Lockhart, Texas (near Austin/San Antonio)
  • In mid‑2026, Blackwave will relocate to a new site in the Port San Antonio aerospace hub
