Range
$17.74 an hour, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

HoursUp to 19 hours per week, non-benefits eligible.
Hours of Operation- 6:00am - 11:00pm Monday-Thursday
- 6:00am - 5:45pm Friday
Shifts will be assigned based on operational needs

Job Summary
The Driver demonstrates skill in operating University shuttle buses and other vehicles.
Core Responsibilities- Manages safe operation of University vehicles and excellent customer service to passengers.
- Drives and operates University shuttle buses and other vehicles over assigned routes.
- Provides service to students, employees, and visitors.
- Checks the condition of vehicles and reports needed adjustments or repairs.
- Maintains mileage reports.
- Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of vehicles.
- Provides special event transportation support as needed.
- Promotes safety and environmental protection by immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents; following University safety plans/procedures/protocols; and participating in appropriate safety training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, Vocational Training or Apprenticeship in a related field.
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsements.
- Current DOT Medical Certification or ability to obtain before employment.
- Three (3) years of demonstrated ability to fulfill responsibilities, reliably meet commitments and expectations, and demonstrate dependability and accountability through employment, volunteer activities, or community involvement, to include:
- One (1) year of experience driving a commercial vehicle with passengers
- This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

- Conditions commonly associated with operating passenger vehicles. Exposure to outside weather conditions. Occasional evening and/or weekend assignments may be required.

This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
