Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Senior Logistics Manager is a strategic leader responsible for directing global logistics operations in support of EPC and large-scale construction projects, with a primary focus on international transportation, marine vessel coordination, and complex project cargo execution. This role ensures the seamless movement of materials from global suppliers to project sites, aligning logistics strategies with project schedules, cost targets, and construction priorities.
This position oversees all aspects of international freight, including heavy-lift, breakbulk, and oversized cargo movements via ocean vessels, chartered ships, and multimodal transport solutions. The Senior Logistics Manager leads marine logistics planning, including vessel selection, port operations, cargo loading/discharge sequencing, and coordination with port authorities to support time-sensitive construction schedules.
The role is responsible for managing and optimizing relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean carriers, and specialized heavy-haul providers, ensuring service performance, compliance, and cost efficiency. A strong emphasis is placed on adherence to U.S. Customs regulations, international trade compliance, import/export controls, tariff classifications, and duty management to mitigate risk and avoid project delays.
Working closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Expediting, and Material Management teams, the Senior Logistics Manager develops and executes comprehensive Logistics Management Plans and Transportation Plans tailored to complex EPC project requirements. This includes detailed routing strategies, site delivery sequencing, laydown planning, and coordination of just-in-time deliveries to support construction activities.
Leadership responsibilities include managing and developing logistics teams across multiple projects, establishing standardized procedures and best practices, and ensuring execution within budget and schedule constraints. The role also serves as a key interface with clients, joint venture partners, and global stakeholders, building strong relationships through consistent performance, transparency, and problem-solving capability.
The Senior Logistics Manager must operate effectively in dynamic, high-risk environments, often requiring domestic and international travel. Success in this role depends on deep industry expertise, strong commercial and contractual acumen, and the ability to proactively manage complex global logistics challenges inherent to EPC and construction projects.
