We’re looking for an experienced
Distribution Shipping Manager to lead shipping operations within our San Antonio distribution center.

This is not a first-time management role. We’re looking for someone who has successfully led
multi-shift warehouse or distribution operations
, managed supervisors and frontline teams, and knows how to create accountability around safety, productivity, accuracy, and on-time shipping.

What You'll Own

As the Distribution Shipping Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day shipping operation across multiple shifts. You’ll manage through Supervisors and Coordinators while maintaining visibility into what is happening on the floor and ensuring orders move out of the building safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop Shipping Supervisors/Coordinators and their teams across multiple shifts.
  • Oversee daily outbound operations, including picking, staging, loading, and dispatch.
  • Drive
    on-time and in-full (OTIF) shipping performance and quickly address issues that could impact customer commitments.
  • Coordinate with the Outbound Logistics team on carriers, LTL/FTL providers, dock scheduling, final-mile deliveries, and service issues.
  • Manage staffing and labor productivity across shipping operations.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Project Management, and Operations teams on order status, capacity constraints, delivery commitments, and escalations.
  • Monitor shipping KPIs and use performance data to identify problems and drive improvements.
  • Manage shipping and packaging supply inventory to support uninterrupted operations while controlling costs.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for material-handling equipment and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage the performance of shipping leadership in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and powered industrial truck standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions when safety issues occur.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase throughput, reduce product damage, improve accuracy, and lower operating costs.
  • Step into the operation when necessary during peak volume, staffing shortages, or service disruptions.
What We're Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced distribution leader who can balance
people leadership with operational execution
.

You should bring:

  • 5+ years of progressive warehouse or distribution center experience.
  • 2–3+ years of experience leading multi-shift operations.
  • Experience managing
    supervisors or other frontline leaders
    , not just individual contributors.
  • Strong understanding of outbound shipping, warehouse workflows, inventory control, dock scheduling, and WMS/ERP systems.
  • Experience managing labor productivity and operational KPIs.
  • Working knowledge of material-handling equipment and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety requirements.
  • Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
  • The ability to make sound decisions quickly in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.

A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred;
equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
