Job DescriptionUnder general supervision, responsible for providing journey-level skills in the repair and maintenance of equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety requirements and procedures.
Responsibilities- Repairs/maintains machinery and mechanical equipment to include motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners and other parts.
- Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble and disassembles to repair or replace broken parts.
- Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
- Maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in working order to include cleaning/lubricating parts, ordering replacement parts and inspecting completed repairs.
- Assists with maintaining inventory to include requisitioning new parts and equipment.
- Completes installation of equipment and building systems.
- Assists trade personnel or hired contractors in the performance of duties in designated areas.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
- Ability to perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Ability to interact respectfully with other employees, professional staff and/or external contacts to offer ideas, identify issues, obtain information or deliver services.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Three (3) years experience as a mechanic in a related field is required.
- Valid TX Driver's License is required - must have a clear driving record.
