The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic – Level II is responsible for the overall maintenance of River City Produce commercial vehicles, including delivery trucks and company‑owned vehicles. This role involves diagnosing automotive problems, determining solutions, making repairs, and ensuring the fleet operates efficiently.

Early morning start time as early as 3 AM. Minimum 40 hours per week plus overtime per state and federal laws. On‑call responsibility after office hours for maintenance emergencies.

• 1‑3 years experience in vehicle mechanics, preventative maintenance
• Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy distribution center environment
• Prioritize workload using the work order system
• Read and write English to translate work orders and report to management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
• Multitask efficiently
• Professional attitude and team mindset
• Handle emergencies calmly and make quick decisions
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
• Full set of diesel tools and diesel scanner for diagnosing forced regeneration

608/609 Certificate – Air Brake Certification, Diesel & AC Certification.

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on all fleet vehicles
• Assist mechanics with ferry‑trucking and warehouse equipment maintenance
• Track purchased parts, maintenance invoices, and documentation
• Support Facility Maintenance Technicians with HVAC filter and bulb changes
• Troubleshoot general building maintenance problems
• Work with the Shop Foreman and Transportation Manager on repairs
• Perform other related tasks as requested by the facility and fleet manager

• May sit 1‑3 hours daily and stand 5‑8 hours daily
• Must lift/carry objects up to 75 pounds
• Must stoop, squat, bend, twist, and reach overhead, forward, back, and down
• Corrected vision required
• Read job‑related documents and perform duties

• Work around noise and vibration from trucks and equipment
• Work around fumes, dust, gases, and odors
• Cold warehouse environments (33°‑56°F) and warm outdoor environments (up to 100°F+) required
• Alert to hazards and report or respond promptly
