Facilities Support Foreman

Terms of employment: 12 months/ 234 days per year. Salary is at the Auxiliary Pay Plan AUX8 on the EISD Compensation Plan. Entry level rate of pay is $27.94/hour with additional consideration based upon directly related experience. Please see attachment below for complete description.

Provide leadership, supervision, and operational oversight for the district-wide custodial program to ensure all schools and support facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, healthy, and welcoming environment that supports student learning and district operations.

The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for supervising custodial personnel, establishing cleaning standards, conducting quality assurance inspections, coordinating training programs, managing custodial equipment and supplies, and promoting continuous improvement in custodial operations. This position works collaboratively with campus administrators and district leadership to ensure facilities consistently meet district expectations for cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred;
  High school diploma/GED required;
  Valid Texas driver's license.
• Custodial experience preferred; three years supervisory experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge

• Experience in K-12 environment or other similar type institutions
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

• Knowledge of custodial operations, logistics, and personnel management
• Ability to manage budget, and create cost savings processes

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills preferred

Major Responsibilities

• Inspects each building and confers with the campus principals regarding custodial work
• Responsible for training, coordinating and providing technical direction in all phases of custodial duties
• Makes assignment changes and arranges for substitute custodians as needed
• Assists supervisor in the selection and supervision of custodial staff
• Assists supervisor in preparing work schedules and the cleaning and refinishing of all floors 1
• Meets head custodians and school principals or designee to determine needs for supplies
• Calls meetings of the custodial staff when deemed necessary for the purpose of training
• Prepare annual forecast for manpower, equipment and campus supply budget
• Conducts cleaning product evaluations and makes recommendations for purchase
• Assists in the selection of custodial equipment
• Oversees the general repair and condition of all custodial equipment
• Conducts annual inventory of physical equipment and supplies
• Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and immediately reports any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor
• Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Support Coordinator
• Other duties as assigned - in the best interest of the district.

Policy, Reports, and Law

• Implement federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in maintenance and transportation, and construction areas.
• Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required in maintenance and transportation and construction areas.
• Oversee data necessary to process section payroll.

Budget and Inventory

• Administer section budgets to ensure that programs are cost-effective and funds are managed prudently.
