Manager, Utility Plant

Overview

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam and electrical generating plants and central refrigeration plants and all utility distribution systems.

• Plans, assigns, and oversees work of subordinate employees operating all utility systems equipment.
• Plans and directs activities relative to the maintenance of equipment, machinery, and building utility systems.
• Maintains records of maintenance activities for each piece of production equipment and machinery to assess and monitor maintenance effectiveness and trends.
• Continuously assesses maintenance activities and processes to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency; develops and implements maintenance policies and procedures.
• Ensures that all employees are trained on safety and quality standards to ensure the department consistently meets established objectives.
• Performs management duties including interviewing, selecting and training employees; planning and directing work, coaching and evaluating performance.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Knowledgeable in utility operations management, including HVAC, steam and chilled water, air and vacuum systems, and basic knowledge of reverse osmosis and deionized water systems.
• Analytical and decision-making skills.

• Ability to collaborate and gain cooperation in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be able to work a flex schedule.

• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Ten (10) years of experience in the maintenance, operation and repair of utility equipment, and three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity is required.
