Overview

We are partnering with an innovative, well-backed clinical-stage biotech company focused on rare diseases with significant unmet need. As the organization advances toward potential commercialization of its lead program, they are seeking a Vice President, Head of Drug Safety to lead, scale, and oversee the global pharmacovigilance function. This is a high-impact, senior leadership role reporting directly into the executive team, with full ownership of medical safety and PV operations across clinical and post‑marketing programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and lead the global Drug Safety organization
  • Oversee all aspects of pharmacovigilance, including safety strategy, case processing, signal detection, and risk management
  • Provide medical review and benefit–risk assessments across the product lifecycle
  • Serve as the company’s safety expert in interactions with regulatory authorities
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial teams
  • Ensure full compliance with global safety regulations and internal SOPs
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in global pharmacovigilance leadership roles across both development and post‑marketing
  • Minimum 2+ years in an executive‑level role (Exec Director, VP, SVP/Head of DSPV)
  • People management experience required
    , including building and developing high‑performing teams
  • Experience working within a small sponsor biotech environment required
  • Deep understanding of medical safety and PV operations
  • Experience leading safety strategy in rare disease, neurology, or endocrine therapeutic areas is a plus
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, hands‑on biotech environment
