Team Lead - Australia Accounting

Role & responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of bookkeepers, ensuring they provide high‑quality bookkeeping services.
• Monitor the daily operations of the team, ensuring all transactions and reports are handled efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and accounting standards.
• Review and approve financial reports, reconciling accounts, and performing regular audits.
• Liaise with clients to discuss financial matters, provide updates, and resolve any concerns.
• Provide training and development to team members to improve performance and skillsets.
• Develop and implement best practices and processes for the team to improve productivity and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any accounting discrepancies or errors.
• Set and monitor individual and team KPIs to ensure performance targets are met.

• In‑depth knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax laws (GST, BAS, income tax, payroll tax, and superannuation).
• Address and resolve financial discrepancies or challenges that may arise.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, team members, and regulatory bodies.
• Handling client queries and providing resolutions promptly and professionally.
• Ability to adapt to new financial tools, technologies, and regulatory changes.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a team.
• Ability to solve problems efficiently and think analytically.
• Experience in managing a team in a remote or distributed environment is a plus.
