Position title: Executive Director, OP Schnabel Family YMCA Location: San Antonio, Texas Employment status: Full-time, Exempt

The Executive Director of the OP Schnabel Family YMCA will provide mission-focused leadership, advancing community impact, membership growth, program quality, staff development, external partnerships/collaborations, philanthropy, and operational excellence. This leader will build strong relationships with members, staff, volunteers, donors, community partners, and public stakeholders while ensuring a welcoming, safe, and financially sustainable YMCA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Branch Executive Director directs the overall operations of the designated YMCA branch. This position is responsible for implementing the operations strategy to reach the annual strategic and fiscal objectives. The Branch Executive Director works to position the Y as a community leader in the areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The Branch Executive Director accomplishes these objectives through three main areas of focus:
Branch Operations, Staff Development, and Community Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Branch Operations

  • Models the 5 Voice Attributes of Welcoming, Nurturing, Genuine, Determined, and Hopeful as a guide for staff and member engagement.
  • Emulates the cause-driven leader on duty practices at all times.
  • Develops, manages, and achieves the annual operating budget for the branch.
  • Implements strategies to grow membership and program enrollment through successful marketing campaigns, high quality programs, and member engagement.
  • Seeks continuous improvement to identify more efficient operating practices, in partnership with Y Support Center leadership.
  • Demonstrates a high level of fiscal competence through accurate budget forecasting and variance reporting.
  • Ensures that the member experience is at the center of everything we do.
  • Creates a culture of inclusion to ensure the mission of the Y is upheld, diversity is valued, and all are welcome.
  • Maintains a clean, safe facility that lends itself to an excellent member experience.
