General Manager - Gym

The General Manager reports to the District Sales Manager and leads a team to deliver exceptional customer experience and achieve business objectives. The role focuses on sales excellence, operational efficiency, and leadership development.

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff, including Assistant General Managers and Fitness Consultants.
• Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to staff, ensuring clarity of roles.
• Set and achieve membership and revenue goals, track KPIs, and craft strategies to increase retention and new sign‑ups.
• Provide constructive performance feedback to staff.
• Ensure high‑quality customer service by addressing member concerns, managing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.
• Engage members with a friendly, approachable attitude and active listening.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, certifications, and safety protocols.
• Supervise facility maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Communicate calmly and clearly during emergencies or disruptions to ensure staff and member safety.

• 2+ years of sales management experience.
• 3‑4 years of customer service experience.
• Strong interest or experience in the fitness industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills at all levels.
• Detail orientation, systematic problem‑solving, and strong time‑management and organizational skills.

• Must pass a background check.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a gym setting and move throughout club floors.
• Proficiency in using the company computer system for documentation, data entry, and report review.
• Physical ability to bend routinely and lift more than 40 lbs.

Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 USD per year.
