POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as the organization’s chief executive, strategic leader, and principal ambassador. The Executive Director will provide organization-wide leadership across healthcare, behavioral health, social services, prevention, administration, and community-facing functions while ensuring the continued strength, sustainability, and impact of the organization. The Executive Director will partner closely with the Board and senior leadership team to advance the organization’s mission and strategic priorities, ensure excellence in service delivery, maintain strong financial stewardship, cultivate and diversify resources, strengthen organizational culture, and expand the organization’s reach and impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Strategic Leadership & Organizational Vision Partner with the Board and leadership team to advance the organization’s mission, strategic plan, and long-term priorities. Translate strategy into clear goals, measurable outcomes, and sustainable organizational growth. Identify opportunities to expand access, strengthen services, diversify revenue, and increase community impact. Anticipate emerging challenges and opportunities affecting the communities served and the organization’s operating environment. Balance respect for the organization’s history and existing strengths with thoughtful innovation and evolution.
- Staff Leadership & Organizational Culture Lead, develop, and retain a talented, mission-driven team while fostering a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and inclusion. Strengthen communication and collaboration across departments and ensure staff understand organizational priorities and their role in achieving them. Coach and support direct reports, establish clear expectations, and build leadership capacity throughout the organization. Promote an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to deliver high-quality services.
- Program, Clinical & Operational Oversight Provide strategic oversight of the organization’s healthcare, behavioral health, prevention, case management, and social service programs. Ensure programs are high-quality, accessible, responsive to community needs, and aligned with organizational strategy. Partner with clinical and program leaders to support continued growth, sustainability, innovation, and expansion of services. Evaluate opportunities to expand access through new service models, strategic partnerships, and potential additional locations.
Ensure effective systems, processes, and infrastructure support organizational efficiency, quality, and service delivery. - Financial Stewardship & Organizational Sustainability Serve as a strong financial steward, partnering with finance leadership and the Board to ensure sound budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash management. Oversee a complex funding environment that includes grants, contracts, healthcare revenue, and other restricted and unrestricted funding streams. Strengthen financial systems, controls, policies, and organizational accountability while aligning resources with strategic priorities. Evaluate investments and new initiatives through the lens of both mission impact and long-term financial sustainability.
Identify opportunities to strengthen and diversify revenue. - Fundraising, Revenue Development & Resource Diversification Partner with the Board and staff to strengthen individual, institutional, corporate, foundation, and government funding. Cultivate relationships with funders, donors, healthcare partners, and other stakeholders who can advance the organization’s mission.
