General Summary And PurposeThe Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, development, and performance management of a direct business operations team, ensuring that daily workflows, service level commitments, and quality standards are consistently met. This position requires sound judgment, strong ownership, and the ability to operate independently while managing a team responsible for high-volume, detail-sensitive work. The ideal candidate will proactively identify operational risks and process gaps, ensure appropriate staffing and workload allocation, and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal business partners and external vendors.
This position operates in a team environment and requires regular collaboration with peer leaders, business partners, and senior management.
You will report to the Director of Operations.
You Will- Coach, mentor, and lead a team of operations representatives responsible for supporting mutual fund account processing, servicing, and related functions.
- Lead the team to deliver on performance goals, including efficiency, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Monitor team output and interactions to ensure quality and compliance standards are consistently met.
- Manage adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies, escalating risks and concerns as appropriate.
- Maintain clear visibility into team workload, assignments, and productivity, adjusting resource allocation as business needs evolve.
- Conduct regular team meetings and monthly 1-on-1 check-ins with direct reports to support performance, development, and engagement.
- Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvement and automation initiatives across the team's workflows, partnering with Technology and Data & Analytics teams as needed to implement scalable solutions.
- Identify, document, and maintain operational processes and procedures, proactively closing identified gaps.
- Manage employee performance in a timely manner, including coaching, documentation, and corrective action when necessary.
- Own escalations and issues within scope of responsibility through resolution, exercising appropriate urgency based on business and client impact.
- Exercise sound judgment on process ownership and cross-functional impact, engaging appropriate stakeholders before implementing changes.
- Partner with internal teams (e.g., Compliance, Marketing, Finance, Technology) and external vendors to support business initiatives and operational readiness.
- Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvement and automation initiatives across the team's workflows, partnering with Technology and Data & Analytics teams as needed to implement scalable solutions.
- Support special projects and new product/process implementations as assigned.
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in an operations management or supervisory role, preferably within a financial services or asset management environment.
