Immediately hiring a CMM Technician for a large machine shop on the north side of San Antonio. The CMM Tech will operate and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to ensure accurate measurement and inspection of parts and component, requiring strong technical skills and attention to detail.
Pay is up to $30/hr. depending on experience.
Shift is Mon-Thurs 7am-6pm, Fri 7am-3pm.
Duties- Operate CMM equipment:
Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines to perform measurements and inspections of production parts and components using engineering drawings, prepared inspection programs, and technical data packages as required. - Develop and modify CMM programs to ensure accurate measurements according to specifications.
- Inspection:
Conduct in-process and final inspections of parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies. Documenting and reporting any non-conformities as required. - Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to verify conformance to design requirements. - Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, quality control, and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes. - Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate inspection records, First Article Inspections, and ISO documentation.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in Metrology preferred. - Experience:
1-3 years’ experience in operating CMMs or in a quality control role. - Experience with “Hexagon Absolute Arms” with probe and scanner abilities.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in CMM programming and familiarity with PC-Dimis and Inspire software. Inspire software experience is a requirement of the position. - Analytical
Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot measurement issues. - Effective verbal and written communications skills to collaborate with team members and document findings.
