Essential Job Functions

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and PPE requirements.
  • Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
  • Set and maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency for all administrative tasks within the Quality Department.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the QA team, enabling the achievement of departmental objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the procurement and inventory of laboratory supplies, including reagents, water treatment chemicals, and microbiological materials.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices related to lab supplies.
  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining compliance with third‑party food safety and quality certification requirements, including the implementation and continual improvement of the facility’s food safety and quality management systems.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the SQF System and ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety and quality requirements.
  • Issue and process Purchase Orders (POs) for the Quality Department in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain the document control system for the SQF program, including SOPs, policies, internal audits, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and facilitate the completion of corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assist with plant audits to ensure GMP and SOP compliance, providing actionable summary reports for leadership.
  • Facilitate Management Review meetings, ensuring the SQF program undergoes annual review and updates by leadership.
  • Organize and coordinate Food Safety/HACCP reviews annually and prior to process changes.
  • Communicate Quality performance data and update specifications for co‑pack produced products.
  • Verify Quality Control and Assurance data daily to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Manage Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for ingredients and reagents, including organic certifications.
  • Compile and maintain Quality KPIs, contributing to the Plant Dashboard and data reporting.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the facility's SQF and quality SOPs.
  • Uphold and ensure adherence to the Food Safety and Food Quality policies and procedures across the facility.
  • Oversee the receipt and delivery processes for alcohol, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards (Alcohol producing sites only).
Required Skills
  • Experience in Food/ Beverage Manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP and Power Point.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, results oriented.
  • Organized and detail oriented, adaptable to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Quality or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment, preferably food/beverage industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) – certification required.
  • In plants co‑packaging alcoholic beverages, sensory tasting must be at least 21 years old.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule:

    Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Work Environment:
    Operating in a fast‑paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold (laboratory is temperature controlled). The environment is structured and supervised.
