Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Control Specialist with a strong focus on the shipping and receiving of raw materials. This role is essential for managing domestic and international logistics, ensuring customs compliance, and maintaining accurate inventory control. You will act as the logistical hub for our facility, ensuring the seamless flow of incoming raw materials and outgoing shipments while maintaining compliance with safety standards and supporting the production team.
Shift: Monday - Friday
Responsibilities- You thrive in a logistics-heavy environment and know your way around a loading dock.
- You are highly organized, especially when it comes to shipping manifests and customs documents.
- You enjoy a physical, fast-paced role that blends computer-based inventory management with hands‑on material handling.
- Manage the complete receiving, inspection, and routing process for all incoming raw materials and chemicals, ensuring flawless documentation.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, preparing necessary customs documentation and ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations.
- Execute and manage all shipping, receiving, and material stock transactions using SAP.
- Perform stocking and inventory management of raw materials, hazardous chemicals, and cleanroom/fab consumables.
- Monitor and restock Kanban materials based on production usage and operational requirements.
- Partner closely with the Procurement Team to maintain accurate inventory levels, report delays, and avoid production disruptions.
- Conduct weekly physical inventory counts and reconcile physical stock with system data.
- Track material batch expiration dates, coordinate replacements, prepare wafers for scrapping, and coordinate outbound scrap shipments per company procedures.
- Maintain and organize the safety supplies cabinet, monitor yard space and dumpsters, and ensure all material handling complies with safety and regulatory standards.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate degree preferred. - 1-3 years of experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, warehouse, or a materials support role.
- Proven experience handling shipping and receiving operations, with a strong understanding of freight tracking and documentation.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory and logistics management preferred.
- Forklift certification or a willingness to obtain certification required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and maintaining digital inventory records.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to handle routine inquiries from cross‑functional teams.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends based on business needs.
Preferred
Skills:
- Knowledge and hands‑on experience with international shipments, import/export compliance, and customs clearance.
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and regulations.
- Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and related safety protocols (Haz Mat).
- Familiarity with Kanban systems and lean inventory practices.
- Haz Mat Certified or willingness to acquire.
- Prior experience in a cleanroom or semiconductor manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
