Production Assembler

Location:

San Antonio, TX 78233 Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (1st Shift)

Overview of the Job

The Production Assembler reads and interprets blueprints and routings to manufacture parts to required technical specifications. This position is responsible for producing high-quality assemblies, performing routine quality inspections, and maintaining standard workplace safety and housekeeping protocols.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Read and understand blueprints and routings to produce parts to required specifications.
  • Inspect first pieces and perform subsequent inspections to ensure overall assembly quality.
  • Maintain station inventory and perform quality checks to identify and report product defects.
  • Utilize hand tools including handheld screwdrivers and drill guns to assemble components.
  • Operate functional area equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve simple quality product issues to meet established standards and tolerances.
  • Complete simple reports on productivity, quality, and safety, ensuring accurate and timely data.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Ensure safety equipment, machine guarding, interlocks, and safety curtains function properly.
  • Report safety problems, hazards, accidents, and near misses to management immediately.
  • Perform other job tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Possess manual dexterity to put parts and pieces together accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and routing documentation.
  • Understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and the handling of hazardous materials.
  • Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively alone or in a team environment.
  • Maintaining regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, and reach above shoulders for up to 25% of the shift.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in product assembly.
  • Thermoforming experience is preferred.
