Cox Manufacturing continues to expand its high-volume precision machining operations and is seeking an experienced Multi-Spindle Machine Setup Technician to support growing production demands.

As one of the nation's largest precision turning manufacturers, Cox operates more than 100 production machines across three shifts, producing millions of precision-machined components every week for customers in aerospace, defense, medical, electronics, automotive, energy, and other demanding industries. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient production, maximizing machine uptime, and ensuring exceptional quality.

• Set up and prepare Tornos and Gildemeister six-spindle machines for production
• Perform complete machine changeovers and tooling setups
• Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance
• Monitor machine performance to ensure quality and production efficiency
• Verify part quality using precision measuring equipment
• Read blueprints and job layouts to ensure accurate setups
• Identify opportunities for process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce downtime
• Train and mentor less experienced machinists and setup technicians
• Work closely with production, quality, and manufacturing teams to maintain on-time delivery and consistent quality

You’ll primarily work with:

• Tornos Six-Spindle Machines
• Gildemeister Six-Spindle Machines
• High-volume precision turning equipment
• Production bar-fed machining systems

Inspection equipment includes:

• Micrometers
• Calipers
• Additional precision measuring instruments

Depending on production requirements, you may work with:

• Aluminum
• Steel
• Stainless Steel
• Brass
• Copper
• Titanium
• High-temperature alloys
• Engineering plastics

Cox manufactures precision bar-stock components for a wide variety of industries requiring consistent quality and repeatable production.

• Experience setting up and operating multi-spindle machines
• Experience with Tornos and/or Gildemeister machines strongly preferred
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Understanding of machining principles and production machining
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision inspection equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot machining and setup issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

• High-volume production machining experience
• Experience improving setup efficiency and cycle times
• Experience mentoring or training junior machinists
• Experience in precision manufacturing environments
