Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer leverages subject-matter expertise to execute critical project work and drive operational decisions. This role applies a deep understanding of manufacturing principles alongside company policies to resolve complex, moderate-scope issues. Working under limited supervision, the Engineer exercises strong judgment within standard practices, builds productive cross-functional relationships, and requires only general guidance on routine work and strategic direction on new initiatives.
Schedule:
1st Shift, Monday through Thursday 5:30 PM - 4:00 PM , should be flexible to support special projects during weekends if needed.
- Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence, design and develop processes in the manufacturing floor and knowledge about fabrication of fixtures, jigs and other assembly aids. Should have knowledge about assembly of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies, and assembly sequences.
- Assist with creation of flow charts, PFMEA’s and product control plans and other documentation as needed.
- Drive Lean principles and continuous improvement activities on production floor: improve processes, reduce waste, 5S.
- Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
- Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
- Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- Lead or facilitate value stream mapping (VSM) events to identify waste and prioritize improvement opportunities across the value stream
- Bachelor’s degree and no experience
OR
- At least 2 years of product manufacturing experience
- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
- Experience machining CGI, steel, and cast iron.
- Experience with Solidworks or equivalent CAD software
- Tooling setup and management.
