PFLAG San Antonio is the local chapter of PFLAG National
, the first and largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. Since 1994, we’ve been proud to serve the San Antonio community through peer support, education, advocacy, and community engagement. Our mission is to support LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and allies through peer support meetings that offer connection and strength during challenging times.
We also provide educational programs-including presentations by community organizations-and actively participate in local events to raise awareness and share vital resources. Additionally, we advocate for equality and justice for LGBTQ+ people and their families.

Serving on our Board of Directors is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in San Antonio's LGBTQ+ community.
You'll work with passionate, committed individuals and help shape the future of PFLAG San Antonio. This is a voluntary, 3-year term position open to individuals 18 and older
.
We are currently recruiting for the following Board Chair roles
. Each role is essential to our mission, and we’ll work with your schedule to support your involvement.
- Organize and oversee community events, speakers, and engagements
- Recruit and train volunteers to represent PFLAG in the community
- Serve as the point of contact for local and national LGBTQ+ events
- Evaluate event effectiveness and report outcomes to the Board
- Identify and cultivate donor and sponsor relationships
- Plan and execute fundraising initiatives
- Collaborate with other chairs to promote events and campaigns
- Help set financial goals and support budget planning
- Look for diverse community organizations PFLAG could present to
- Attend informational meetings for events by community organizations
- Look for ways PFLAG could support DE&I efforts at events
- Invite diverse organizations to present/educate at PFLAG Support Meetings
- Educate PFLAG members about diverse groups, what they do, and why it is important
- Be at least 18 years old
- Attend at least 9 support meetings in person annually
- Participate in community events and board meetings
- Serve a 3-year term, elected by chapter members
- Complete orientation and training
