Summary:

The Development Coordinator accomplishes tasks assigned by the Pastor, providing direction and support for the Stewardship Campaign, Archbishop’s Appeal for Ministries, and similar efforts. Fulfills a crucial role in fostering and nurturing strong relationships within the parish community for parish development needs and ministry communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs all aspects of the Stewardship Campaign, Archbishop’s Appeal for Ministries, Capital Campaigns; and oversees community building and other fund-raising events to meet parish goals and objectives.
  • Assesses initiatives and methods to strengthen relationships with parishioners and families, addressing concerns and facilitating pastoral care where needed.
  • Executes and maintains a strategic communications calendar to encompass seasonal events, stewardship, and parish-wide events.
  • Coordinates public relations efforts to promote parish events, initiatives, and community outreach; oversees social media interactions with staff and ministries.
  • Provides support to the Pastor by identifying opportunities to develop relationships with potential donors, and funding proposals for individuals, foundations and corporations in support of the parish mission.
  • Establishes and maintains a donor database to archive donor profiles and contributions, seek and identify potential donors, and assess communities of support for parish projects.
  • Assists in donor and gift acknowledgement.
  • Collaborates with ministry leaders to ensure parish communication needs are met.
  • Invites content for St. Mark weekly “e-blast” communication to parishioners and other subscribers; creates original content when necessary.
  • Assists with planning development budget and monitoring throughout the year.
  • Assists with planning and tracking project events, including disbursements, invoicing and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Attends select workshops and conferences designed to develop stewardship, fundraising, and media presence; and for professional development, especially those offered by the Archdiocese.
  • Has, or develops, a working knowledge of WeShare, the online giving platform associated with the St. Mark website.
  • Oversees production of all major publications and content, including the Newsletter, Annual Report, parish website, Ministry Contact List, Calendar, and assists with design when necessary.
  • Assists in developing and implementing strategies to promote St. Mark to internal constituencies of the parish, the Archdiocese of San Antonio, and other Catholic entities, as well as the community at large.
  • Prepare, make updates, and submit the printed annual parish Guide Book & Directory and newcomers packets.
  • Has familiarity with the permit mail system and to how it relates to parish ministry communication.
  • Assists in planning and execution of ministry events, including the annual Ministry Fair.
  • Must be available on designated weekends for specific events assisting with execution and on-site logistics for the day of the event, such as the Archbishop’s Appeal and Stewardship Weekend.
  • Exhibits strict attention to detail and ability to proofread own and others’ work.
  • Capable to identify, recruit, coordinate and manage relationships with volunteers as necessary.
