Bio Matrix Specialty Infusion Pharmacy is seeking a Part‑Time Per Diem Infusion Nurse to see patients in their homes or infusion suites. It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work in one of the metropolitan‑area locations noted in the posting. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Job Description

An RN performs infusion insertions, monitors, and removes IVs used to deliver medications, blood products, and nutrition. During IV therapy the nurse monitors patients for adverse reactions and ensures tubing, bandages, and needles remain secure. The RN also performs venous phlebotomy when blood levels are required, records vital signs, completes physical assessments and review of systems, documents all patient‑related activities, and records medications administered.

Provides and coordinates all staffing services to the patient with assistance from the Company Directors, Nursing Coordinator and the Director of Nursing. Communicates with patients to determine problems and solutions regarding their treatment, and conveys documentation to all necessary internal and external staff.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Schedule nursing visits in accordance with Rx’s and established protocols.
  • Coordinate SOC and ongoing visits, confirm scheduled visits with patient and nursing agency/RN.
  • Send schedule by email to team members.
  • Enter Therapy Admin reports and email to involved team.
  • Review all nurses’ notes for content, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Communicate continuous updates to families, supervisors, and field personnel.
  • Report issues to the referring MD and appropriate office administrator and to Bio Matrix nursing.
  • Handle computer functions: input, reports, searches, schedules.
  • Communicate patient/employee information to answering services when necessary.
  • Understand and adhere to company compliance paperwork and videotapes.
  • Perform duties in accordance with federal and state laws and ethical standards.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and ethics in staffing.
  • Insert IV cannulas; administer prescribed IV solutions and medications; monitor and maintain infusion sites.
  • Teach patients and caregivers to administer Home Infusion.
  • Prepare clinical records, care plans, progress notes for each visit.
  • Coordinate schedule of patient visits and telephone calls.
  • Work in patient’s place of residence.
  • Drive as assigned within state.
  • Prior experience in Home Infusion with PICC/Port/Midline preferred.
Non‑Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Schedule flexibility and willingness to work extra hours if needed.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Perform related duties as requested.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and audits as directed.
Qualification Requirements
  • Registered Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • IV certification with experience in central line care and management.
  • Current state RN license in the location specified in posting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience.
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience in home care, critical care, emergency nursing, AIC, or hospital discharge planning.
  • Experience in staffing and ability to multi‑task with good communication and interpersonal skills.
